Who it's for — and who should skip it
Buy it if your lawn is shaded by trees or hemmed in by walls, up to about a third of an acre (leaving headroom under the 0.37-acre rating), gently sloped, especially along its edges, and kept tall: St. Augustine or Bahia at 3 to 4 inches, or tall fescue. It's a strong fit if you want 4G theft tracking and a long warranty from an established brand without mounting an antenna.
Skip it if your boundary runs across slopes steeper than about 25% or your banks go past 45%; if you keep Bermuda below 2 inches; if you want clean edges without trimming; or if price per acre is your first filter. Navigation: LiDAR plus vision, no antenna
Navimow sums up the i215 LiDAR as "no wires, no antenna", with instant mapping from the first click. It positions itself with LiDAR plus vision: the scanner measures the shapes around it, such as walls, fences, trees and beds, and the camera adds visual detail. Because none of that depends on satellites, Navimow says it navigates even under trees or at night, which is exactly where the brand's RTK mowers are weakest. Setup is the charging station and its installation kit, then a mapping run in the app.
For obstacles, Navimow says the i215 detects more than 200 obstacle types with 0.4-inch precision. As with any camera system, clear small toys and hoses before a run.
LiDAR's trade-off runs the other way from RTK's. It positions itself against the objects around it, so a wide-open lawn with little nearby is its weakest case, while a tree-lined or walled yard is its strongest. Our guide to RTK vs LiDAR vs vision covers the trade in full.
Terrain, cutting and capacity
Navimow's US manual gives two slope figures: up to 45% (24°) inside the working area and 25% (14°) at the boundary. In practice, draw the edges of your map on gentle ground and let the mower climb inside them. The i215 drives on off-road rear wheels with front casters; Navimow doesn't print "rear-wheel drive", but that is the layout, and it isn't all-wheel drive. Treat both slope figures as dry-grass ceilings.
The mower cuts an 8.66-inch swath, with the height adjustable from 2 to 4 inches. That covers St. Augustine and Bahia at 3 to 4 inches, including 3.5 to 4 inches in shade, plus tall fescue, Zoysia and centipede. A low-cutting kit comes in the box, but Navimow doesn't publish its lower limit, so don't count on it for Bermuda below 2 inches. EdgeSense rides along fences and walls for a consistent border pass, but with no dedicated edge blade we rate the edges "ok"; expect some trimming.
Navimow designs the i215 for lawns up to 0.37 acre and says it may support up to 0.44 acre for flexibility. Our rule of thumb is to buy a rating about 15% above your measured lawn, which puts the i215 at lawns up to just under a third of an acre. The manual lists about 160 minutes of mowing per full charge.
Smart features, rain and noise

- Rain: the mower detects harsh weather and pauses. Navimow's manual recommends mowing in dry weather, because in
rain clippings can stick to the bottom of the mower and make it slip, and says not to mow in heavy rain, heavy fog, thunderstorms or snow. The mower body and charging station are rated IP66, and the power supply IP67.
- Noise: the manual lists a sound power level of 59 dB(A), the figure Navimow advertises, and a sound pressure
level of 51 dB(A). Both are listed specs, not MowScout measurements.
- Weight: 32.41 lb with the battery.
Warranty and buying notes
Navimow's limited warranty covers the i215 LiDAR for 3 years and its battery pack and power adapters for 2 years. Segway Navimow has one of the longest US track records among the robot mower brands we cover.
On Amazon, the listing we link is sold and shipped by Navimow Store US and currently opens on the bare "i215 LiDAR" option; the "i215 LiDAR + Garage M" bundle remains a separate available variation, so check which option is selected before you check out. Acme Tools also lists the bare mower.
Spec conflicts we found
- Cutting width: 8.66 inches in Navimow's manual and Amazon's details, but one Amazon bullet says 7.1 inches. We
use 8.66.
- Area: Navimow says 0.37 acre, with up to 0.44 acre possible; Home Depot and Lowe's titles say 1/2 acre. We use
0.37.
- Hourly rate: the manual prints 4,585 square feet against "area capacity per hour", but the figure looks like a
per-charge number, so we don't use it.
- Low-cutting kit: included, but its lower limit isn't published.
How it compares
vs Navimow i210 AWD (Score 74). The all-wheel-drive i-series sibling: RTK plus vision with Network RTK corrections by default, so no local antenna where that coverage reaches, a 45% slope rating on AWD, and a 3.6-inch cut ceiling, for a quarter acre and less money. The better pick for an open, sloped small lawn; the i215 for shade and taller grass.
vs LUBA mini 2 AWD (Score 79). Also antenna-free LiDAR at 0.37 acre with a 4-inch ceiling, but all-wheel drive rated to 80%, for more money. On a steep lawn, it's the one to buy.
